Hola, I'm Phanor 👋
I'm a software engineer with over 25 years of experience building systems
that people actually use. I specialize in
Go, Node.js, typescript, and cloud-native
architectures, and I've had the privilege of working with amazing teams at
Disney, Truepill, Milwaukee Tool, Exomindset, and X-Team, just to mention a few—all while working remotely from
my home in Mérida, Venezuela, a beautiful city nestled in the Andes
mountains.
What drives me
I genuinely love building things that solve real problems. Whether it's
optimizing a graph database with 9 million nodes, migrating a legacy API to
Go, or building a healthcare platform that serves thousands of patients, I
care about quality, reliability, and impact. I'm also passionate about
mentoring—I believe the best teams are the ones where people support each
other and grow together. I've led technical discussions, established best
practices, and helped junior developers level up throughout my career.
Beyond the code
When I'm not coding, I enjoy speaking at conferences (I've spoken at events
about Neo4j and JAMStack), contributing to open-source projects (I built
Muxie, a TMUX session manager with 100+ GitHub stars), and finding ways to
support the tech community here in Venezuela. I'm also a big believer in
continuous learning—I'm always exploring new technologies and finding ways
to improve my craft.
